For an adventurous little boy, a Dinosaur theme is one he and his friends will love and you can have a lot of fun planning as there is a lot of unique things you can do! I love green so was looking forward to blogging on a party theme incorporating green which also works well with brown for this theme as well as orange and/or blue if you wish!
Some of these items you could incorporate into a jungle or safari theme as well.
Here are a few invitations and printable collections which are ultra cool for this little boy theme and will help you select your colour scheme for your party:
There is a range of great banners and buntings for this theme as well as a host of other hanging decorations you could use in the colour scheme for this party:
Lovely blue lantern if you are working blue into this theme. This lantern could be used many times over if you have a little boy:
This paper lantern resembles a dinosaur egg and would create a creative Dinosaur effect:
For a giant theme like Dinosaurs, giant balloons are perfect!:
You could combine them with these smaller dinosaur print ballooons:
For a cute light effect (that your little man will love to hang in his bedroom after the party!) these dinosaur lights are irresistible!
These yarn eggs I spotted on the Little Sooti blog would also make great Dinosaur egg decorations. Follow the link for a tutorial on how to make these:
For your table setting, you could start off with a bamboo backdrop such as this, or pick up some real bamboo from Bunnings or a similar store:
You could use green as your base for your tablecloth, and this grass tablecloth is something different:
Combine this bamboo table runner and these plate options to give your table a real prehistoric feel:
Or use vibrant colour plates/cups to contrast nicely against the more natural tablecloth & backdrop:
These melamine cups are cute and come in a range of colours which you could use for many parties:
Remove the lid off this coffee cup for a great brown cup to suit this theme:
Love these straws in green!
These glass bottles could hold your beverages for serving – a great green colour:
Check out this cool idea! What boy wouldn’t love dinosaur bones floating in their drink!
This cute spotty napkin is a great Dinosaur green colour but I love the blue incorporated into it if you want to just add little splashes of blue here and there into this theme:
To continue the wooden look these pieces would look great:
These bone servers are great aren’t they? A little bit pricey but if you love them and think you would use them regularly – go for it!
These pine cups would be great for serving sweet or savoury items, or displaying your cutlery:
A cute wooden scoop for serving your lollies and sweets:
The rock look of these green bon bons would totally go with this theme:
There are some cute Dinosaur cookie cutters available but your sandwiches and other savoury options don’t have to be left out of this theme with this sandwich cutter!
To present your cupcakes here are some vibrant display options:
For your main cake these candles would really compliment the Dinosaur colour scheme:
The great colouring of this Amber cake stand would work in well with your colour schemes of browns and oranges:
Onto some party hat ideas and how sweet is this Dinosaur crown for the special birthday boy?
Safari hats would work well for a Dinosaur Dig party as well and I’m sure all the little guests would be chuffed to wear one!
A funky and fun party hat option:
As an alternative to party hats you could use these dinosaur foam masks instead which I’m sure all the little one’s would have fun wearing:
Now for some fun options to create a dinosaur theme around your party space!
For a dinosaur theme party it’s great if you can incorporate elements of plants and bamboo into your decor. Here are some ideas to give you inspiration. You should be able to find some similar items at your local Bunnings or similar shops:
A few unique items to help decorate your table and these Dinosaur Terrariums are such a sweet discovery!
How funky is this dinosaur centrepiece? Love the colours!
These bones could be used to hang around the party space, to hide for a dinosaur bone hunt, or used on the table itself:
Some great dinosaur finds to help decorate your table and party area! The boys will love it:
These dinosaur eggs could be grouped together for a centrepiece, placed around your party table and then given as a take home gift as they contain a little growing dinosaur pet inside!
For another unique dinosaur decoration, this chalkboard wall sticker could be used for a birthday message for the special little one!
Now onto some outdoor decor & ideas for a dinosaur dig activity or dinosaur bone hunt which can be great fun for this theme:
What a great find these Dinosaur Stilts are! You can use them to create Dinosaur footprints in your backyard before the party. The boys would probably having a go at using them during the party as well!
These ocean rock pots (or other ocean rock items) really fit into the prehistoric look:
A sandpit is great to use for a dinosaur dig and I think this sand pit is so gorgeous!! You could use a Dinosaur model set to hide the pieces within the sand:
Set up some “Dig here” signs using these cute chalkboard stakes:
Give each child a bucket to collect their finds:
And have a few tools lying around for their dig:
However if you don’t have a sand pit, these excavation kits have the dinosaur bones already encased in a clay block the kids can dig into using tools which are provided!
Now for the end of the party and these are some Dinosaur favours that the little one’s are sure to love and enjoy at home. You could combine a few of these in a little take home pack!
These green/brown packaging options would match well with this scheme for either some cute Dinosaur favours or sweets/treats
To top off any packaging you choose, these twine and ribbon options together with a cute thank you tag will add that extra special touch to your take home gifts:
These metal thank you tags would work in well with this dinosaur theme and is a unique extra on your favour!
I hope you have found some inspiration and ideas for your little one’s Dinosaur theme party! If this wasn’t a theme you were thinking about having, hopefully this post has shown you the fun you can have with this party if your little one loves Dinosaurs!
