Which boy wouldn’t love to have superpowers? Well a Superhero party is a chance for him to at least pretend for a day that he, and all his friends can save the world! Of course girls can be superhero’s too and I have included a few girly Superhero items in this post as well.
Red, blue and yellow are the traditional colours for this theme however as you’ll see below, there are some great invitations/printables with other unique modern combinations which would also look fantastic !
There is alot of things you could do/make yourself for this theme, such as “bam” and “pow” cutouts, and using superhero comic book pages to paste on different items or make something out of. I’m sure this post will give you some ideas of things you can create yourself and help you find where to purchase some fun items for this theme!
Invitations and Printables
Here is a great range of invitation and printables to get your mind stirring with ideas for colour schemes and looks:
To match the above invitation I just love these matching printables which were showcased by Ma’ Cake for her son’s birthday:
Great unique colour combinations for these invitations, and nice to see an option for girls too!
For a vintage look, this fantastic set would style your whole party:
Decorations
Now onto some hanging decorations and although this first banner is meant for a Sesame Street theme, the colours match well with the Superhero theme and I like the personal effect and different look of it:
Fabric buntings are great because they last! This red bunting would stand out and could be used for many future themes as well!
If you are crafty you can make your own bunting out of comic book pages! Love the look of this and I’m sure your little one will too! Follow the link to see the tutorial!
These hanging decorations could create a fun effect
Combining red, blue and yellow with stars this paper garland has the perfect combination:
How great do these tulle pom pom’s look together in these colours?
A few other options for dangling bursts of colour for this party!
Kids will never stop loving balloons and these 3 create a funky look:
Giant balloons for a super effect!
These red stars could be pasted onto your walls, used to create a banner out of or any other creative idea you could dream up!
Table Decor
Here are some bright options for your table which you could mix and match. These designs below often have matching sets so follow the link if you want to find the matching items!
This fun colourful plate would look great with plain coloured tableware:
How quirky are these cups! The colour and fun of them would work with this theme and you can use them to spell out words or to make a bunting out of!
Black and white could work well into this theme, especially if you feature some comic book designs/decorations into the party:
Sweet Treats
How super are these food label cards? They would look fantastic on the table for this theme!
The little one’s are going to love these! Follow the link to get the template so that you can make these superhero lollipops! A simple way to transform a sweet treat for your theme!
One of the recent crazes are these push pops which you can fill with a cupcake or sweets. I love this idea which I spotted on the Mon Tresor blog where it’s filled with different coloured lollies which matches this theme! You can purchase these push pops from Mon Tresor.
Another unique find are these Kaped Kandy Kones (from the US but can be shipped)! You could even make a similar design yourself. Fill them with lollies, popcorn, chips – anything you like!
Fill your candy buffet with these red, blue and yellow treats!
Love these star lollipops for a different lollipop look:
Just too sweet! Old fashioned candy sticks:
Use this cutter for some great cookies the little one’s will love!
To power up your cupcakes pop these into them for an instant effect!
Such cute little characters on these toppers!
Set your cupcakes up on this bright blue stand:
Or this black and white stand for a comic book feel!
Love these bold colours and stars and stripes patterns for a Superhero theme:
For your cake, try these extra long candles which you can use in red, blue and/or yellow!
Or these cute blue star candles:
Your cake for this theme will probably involve some bright vibrant colours and I think a black cake stand would really make them stand out even more! This cake stand looks so stylish it could be used beautifully for all your adult celebrations as well:
Special themed decorations/ideas:
Your little one is sure to want to run around with a cape and mask on the day! So here are some finds to help him feel like a true hero:
This Superhero tshirt by Sookie Baby is another way to dress your little boy in some hip Superhero gear!
These masks would be great for all the little one’s at the party:
We can’t forget the supergirls! This cape and mask set is fiercely pretty!
This cute headband would also work well for all the supergirl’s out there!
For the party guests, instead of superhero masks you could use a traditional party hat and decorate it with a sticker or two:
Party games just got cooler with these themed sets. The little one’s will love playing this Pin the badge on the Superhero game!
Use pages from comic books to make decorations, or you could use comic books as an extra special take home gift!
Seedling always has so many great creative packs and this “Create your own superhero cape” is fantastic for the birthday boy to make his own cape for his party! Or perhaps all the little one’s could get involved on the day, leaving the birthday boy with a special cape decorated by all his friends!
Cute notebook? I think so!
These delightful handpainted superheros would look great on your party table or could be used as party favours. I love that they have put a handmade twist on the traditional superhero’s!
These special prints could feature on the day and then be hung in the bedroom after for a reminder of this super birthday!
For a special drink on the day, check out this Superhero juice with a natural fruit infusion:
Take Home Gift
Some little gift ideas you could bundle together or with some sweets to take home:
The boys don’t have to be left out of the ribbon wand fun with these Superhero ribbon wands!
Loving these packaging options, starting off with this smart idea of pasting masks onto glass jars! Follow the link for this idea:
I think the chevron design goes well with the look of the superhero theme if you think about the jagged lines of all the “bam” and “pow” speech bubbles - so these chevron tote boxes (also available in black and white) would look great perhaps combined with a comic strip thank you tag!
For a super star look use these cookie boxes to create a cool take home gift:
Another great option for all your Superhero party take home goodies:
These blue tin pails are not only great for a take home gift filled with some lollies but you could use them for a centrepiece as well with some “bam” and “pow” speech bubbles sticking out the top!
Top off your packaging with some of these choices:
